Spanning around 630 sqm, the store offers approximately 6,000 organic products, including fresh food, natural cosmetics and sustainable household goods with a strong focus on regional suppliers. A café area with seating complements the retail concept, serving organic coffee, snacks and drinks for on-site consumption or takeaway. The store design reflects Alnatura’s sustainability approach, featuring wood, natural stone, recycled materials and energy-efficient refrigeration systems.

Edeka Zurheide

Berliner Allee 52, 40212 Düsseldorf

With a total retail space of more than 10,000 sqm, some 60,000 articles and several restaurants, Zurheide, located right near Königsallee, presents a variety of departments with their own products and specialties. The market indulges its customers with patisseries, hand-made pasta and a bar offering ham, mozzarella, premium beef and champagne.

Manufactum Brot & Butter

Steinstraße 4, 40212 Düsseldorf

In Manufactum’s 180-sqm recently modernised store, customers can find regional and seasonal foods that have been made using rare traditional practices. Products include artisan cheeses and sausages from heritage livestock breeds. Customers can watch bread be made in the in-house bakery and try out foods in the adjoining bistro. A changing lunch menu is also available.

Nespresso Boutique

Schadowstraße 42, 40212 Düsseldorf

The Nespresso boutique on Schadowstraße serves as the brand’s German flagship store, combining coffee enjoyment with digital retail services. The ground-floor location introduces a mobile store concept that allows customers to shop via smartphone throughout the space, independent of the checkout area. Soft natural tones, oak elements and beige clay tiles define the interior, while a central coffee bar, personalization features such as engraving and milk foam printing, and a site-specific artwork inspired by Düsseldorf’s skyline emphasize the local connection.

Rewe Pick & Go

Am Wehrhahn 43, 40211 Düsseldorf

Rewe has opened a hybrid store in Düsseldorf that combines four payment methods, including the cashierless ‘Pick & Go’ system with computer vision and sensor technology. Customers can pay for their purchases using an app, self-checkout or, for the first time, computer vision without scanning. The system is based on artificial intelligence and 3D models that personalise the shopping experience and prevent theft.

Tains – Mein Asiamarkt

Immermannstraße 50-52, 40210 Düsseldorf

Tains is the modern advancement of Asian „mom and pop” stores with an experience character. In 2017, the family business opened its first Asian market in Düsseldorf, which, in addition to a basic, trend and fresh range, also offers convenience items freshly prepared from its own products for consumption on site or to take away.

Valora Service Store DB

Konrad-Adenauer-Platz 14, 40210 Düsseldorf

The Swiss foodvenience company Valora has been operating a hybrid store at Düsseldorf Central Station since April 2022, where customers can shop 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During the day there are staff in the Service Store DB, at night the system switches to completely autonomous operation. You can then access the 24/7 Service Store app and use it to scan and pay for your purchases via smartphone.

Zeit für Brot

Flinger Straße 7, 40213 Düsseldorf

In May 2025, Zeit für Brot opened its second Düsseldorf location, marking the largest site of the bakery chain to date. Covering a total of 629 square meters, the store on Flinger Straße combines retail space, café seating and a glass bakery where organic baked goods are produced on site by hand. The interior design references 1960s coffeehouse culture, using sustainable materials and vintage furniture to create a calm atmosphere at the intersection of shopping streets and the historic old town.

The direct successor to the historic outlet 1 in Essen-Schonnebeck has had a new look since the end of 2020. The motto of the further developed store concept: „The art of omission“. The focus is on a clear and customer-oriented store layout.

Edeka Breidohr

Walder Strasse 99, 40724 Hilden

The supermarket operated by Edeka merchants Breidohr is regarded as one of the top addresses for fresh, high-quality groceries in Hilden. After renovation and complete reconstruction, the store has been presenting itself since the end of 2020 with a new store layout geared to the high quality standards in the product range.

Globus 

Hafelsstrasse 200, 47809 Krefeld

In May 2021, Globus opened a spacious store with a focus on fresh produce and in-house production at the site of the former Real Markthalle. The store in Krefeld is one of seven Globus locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, with two more to be added in the course of the year.

Edeka Kels

Homberger Str. 6, 40882 Ratingen

Where machines were once built, a „freshness paradise“ has now been created. The Ratingen branch of Edeka Kels has changed sides of the street and now offers its extensive assortment in the charming ambience of a listed hall.

Edeka Paschmann

Weseler Straße 30, 45478 Mülheim a. d. Ruhr

In the fall of 2021, the eleventh supermarket operated by the Paschmann merchant family will open in the newly built „Hafen-Center“ in Mülheim a. d. Ruhr. The 4,500 sqm e-center impresses with its broad, fresh-oriented food assortment and a varied mix of styles in the interior design.

Kaufland Heiligenhaus

Velberter Str. 38-44, 42579 Heiligenhaus

Kaufland places a strong focus on digital in-store services within the store. Eight self-checkout terminals and the mobile “K-Scan” system enable a fast and convenient checkout process, allowing registered customers to scan products via handheld device or smartphone while shopping. The approximately 4,300 sqm store is also equipped with energy-efficient systems, including the use of waste heat from refrigeration units for heating purposes.

Königshof Essen

Willy-Brandt-Platz 5-7, 45127 Essen

The former Kaufhof building at Willy-Brandt-Platz has been transformed into the Königshof, a new food hall combining gastronomy, social spaces and urban life in Essen’s city center. The ground floor spans around 3,200 square meters and brings together a diverse mix of international cuisines, local operators and open seating areas. Industrial materials such as concrete and metal define the design, complemented by warm lighting, wooden surfaces and graphic references to the city of Essen, giving the market hall a distinctive local character.
